Caratank 25ltr & 30ltr underslung gas LPG tanks

For Fiat Ducato, Citreon Relay, Peugeot Boxer 2006 onwards

Specially made steel gas tanks used for the specific purpose of filling with liquid LPG but allowing feeding of vapour LPG for domestic purposes. These tanks employ many safety features in their design and are ideal for location under floor of vehicles where there is adequate space.

The liquid gas used inside the gas tank can be obtained through the network of gas refilling station used throughout Europe for running cars on gas.

Each Caratank is designed to be filled from a filler point conveniently mounted on the external side of the vehicle and with use of filler adapters can be filled while travelling through Europe without the need to swap bottles over and once mounted underfloor will free extra space that is normally taken up by gas bottles in the locker box.

The filling of the Caratank is controlled automatically by a float activated over fill protection valve ensuring no more than 80% fill can be achieved.

The Caratank also has a unique float activated gauge giving a reading in percent of the tank capacity, thus allowing the user to determine the amount of LPG remaining in the tank. This gauge comes with a remote LED display to read on the dashboard or in the habitation area.

There are regulations and codes of practice in place for the safe fitting of under floor tank and these are covered in the following documents:

The tank is secured by using purpose designed tank mounting cradle, that have been designed by Autogas 2000 Leisure with collaboration with Cad designers. These British made cradles are laser cut and folded to offer a mounting for any of our 200mm diameter gas tanks under floor to the X250 chassis as used on many panel van conversions.

The design has been checked and an in-house certification is applied after confirmation from an engineering consultant to confirm that the cradle exceeds current recommendation for under floor tank mounting through mathematical calculations.

The cradles are bolted through the chassis side so offer an easy fitting on pre converted motor homes where a floor mounting would not be possible allowing the tank to lift straight in. This fixing also allows the tank to simply lifted into position during install and can in later life be simply removed for any service type of work that may be required. Rubber insulation is also used between the tank and mounting frame to further protect the tank from corrosion build up between the two surfaces. 

This LPG tank setup kit is designed to be located in the centre of the vehicle just in front of the existing handbrake cable assembly. 

The 25Ltr Caratank gives a 10kg and 30Ltr gives a 12kg working capacity and frees up the original gas locker box for other uses. 

A heat shield is provided to reflect heat from the vehicle exhaust but also acts as a suitable stone guard to protect the tank during normal use and a remote filler point with Sill Mounting Bayonet Filler.

We recommend that the tank and associated fixing are further treated after install with suitable under-body stone guard spray on protection. (done with every installation)
